Selville Records starts off 2022 with ‘Dream Within A Dream’ by Da Real Emkay, a bumping EP that winds up the label’s roster of ambitious releases to celebrate its second year in business.

Da Real Emkay is a self-taught producer and DJ Springs, Eastrand, Johannesburg. Real name Kgotso Lekgeu is part of the new wave of upcoming producers in South Africa creating what is South Africa Deep Tech/Dub, slowly making his mark having releases from labels such as Altitude of house music and Buddynice’s Redemial Sounds.

Emkay stretches the signature minimal/deep tech sound into elegant head nodding tempos across five tracks including a tribute to Kid Fonque, reflecting his influences such as Buddynice, House Victims and many others in the same lane as him, delivering a satisfyingly moody resonance four for the floor.
